Welcome to our department. We:

• monitor the health situation in the ten municipalities of Gävleborg. This is done by continuosly updating and analyzing our database for epidemiological surveillance. We also conduct surveys, most importantly questionnaires measuring risk factors (tobacco use, alcohol consumption etc) in the adult population as well as in school children.
• evaluate activities in the fields of health promotion and disease prevention in our region. 
• support public health activities at a general level, often together with other public health actors at different levels in society.
